MUMBAI: Pesi Shroff-schooled filly Psychic Star (jockey Vivek G) made a mockery of her nine rivals to win the Villoo C Poonawalla Indian Oaks (Gr.1), feature of Saturday's races. It was a fifth successive victory for Shroff in this prestigious fillies' derby and took his tally to record 13 Indian Oaks crowns in his two-decade old career as a trainer.
The hero of the day was 22-year-old Delhi lad Vivek G who landed his second Indian classic in as many starts. "I'm lucky for the faith Shroff sir has shown in me," said the man who had secured his riding license just two years ago at the Delhi Race Club.
