PSV stance on Denzel Dumfries amid Everton transfer speculation

PSV Eindhoven boss Roger Schmidt has admitted reported Everton transfer target Denzel Dumfries is likely to leave this summer.

The Blues have been frequently linked with a move for the Netherlands international in recent months, as have Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.

However, reports in recent days have claimed that Bayern have dropped out of the race to sign the PSV captain.

It is thought the German champions do not want to pay Dumfries €15million release clause.

Schmidt has been speaking about the possibility of Dumfries leaving PSV this summer, along with teammate Donyell Malen who has been linked with Liverpool.

The PSV boss says that he expects Dumfries to move on this summer, opening the door to a potential move to Everton.

"That's how it goes in football, especially at PSV, we lose one or two good players every year," Schmidt told Dutch news outlet NOS .

"It has been clear to me for some time that Donyell and Denzel are likely to leave. Actually last summer.

“I also take it into account and if they do stay, that is great. But we have to prepare ourselves that we will have to play without both next season.”
