If you’re a sneakerhead or fashion enthusiast, you might wanna set your alarms, because New Balance is restocking its sell-out 204L sneaker. And after it’s instant sell out when it first dropped, the brand is anticipating this fresh wave to disappear pretty quick.
This sneaker style isn’t anything new, but it’s the brown suede colourway that sent people into a tizzy. It’s a known dupe for New Balance’s 2024 collaboration with Miu Miu, when the two brands worked together to create an earthy brown 530 SL sneaker that practically broke the internet. It was like New Balance’s classic 530, minus the chunky sole — so basically, the 204L.
Naturally, the Miu Miu x New Balance collab sold out at lightning speed. So fans of both brands were equally as excited when New Balance released the 204L in the ‘mushroom with arid stone’ suede (a fancy way of saying brown), selling it out almost immediately after its release.
In this restock, it’s back not only in it’s classic brown colourway that’s an ode to it’s more bougie Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL sister, but also a brand new beige shade called ‘timberwolf with linen‘.
The design fuses 70s running-inspired lines with 2000s tech-style detailing in a slimmer version of a traditional dad sneaker. It’s a pretty versatile piece that can be styled with athleisure, streetwear or even jeans.
“What’s exciting about the 204L is how seamlessly it fits into people’s wardrobes. It has that perfect mix of classic New Balance DNA with a contemporary twist — a design that feels fresh, versatile, and genuinely wearable every day,” said Jenna Davies, New Balance Footwear Merchandise Manager, ANZ.
The New Balance 204L will be restocking on Thursday 10 October both online and in select New Balance stores and will be priced at $190, which isn’t a bad shout considering the now sold out Miu Miu x New Balance collab cost a whopping $1,880.
With its neutral palette, sleek silhouette, cult following and reputation, the 204L is likely to be New Balance’s next “it” sneaker. And given how quickly it sold out last time, you’ll want to move fast on Thursday — it’s anyone’s guess when these bad boys will be restocked once they sell out once again.
