PSNI warning as 'info suggests illegal rave planned for part of Belfast'

Police have issued a warning to anyone thinking of attending a 'planned illegal rave' on Saturday night in Belfast.

The PSNI says it has 'information to suggest that there is an illegal rave planned' in the north of the city this evening.

A post on the North Belfast police Facebook page said: "You don't need us to tell you that we are in the middle of a serious global pandemic with a further 319 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed today in Northern Ireland.

"Do not attend any such event. If you do, you will be in breach of government restrictions and are liable to receive a fine.

"Even more important however, you will be putting your loved ones and friends at a greater risk of catching and spreading this horrendous disease.

"Please think about what you're doing and where you're going. Stay safe all. Tennent St Police."
