PSNI warn of M2 road closure for up to three hours

A section of the M2 is to be closed by the police for up to three hours today.

The PSNI issued a warning on social media on Thursday just before 11am to say the M2 northbound in Ballymena will be closed for the recovery of a lorry.

Police said it will be closed for approximately 2-3 hours at the Broughshane junction, junction 11.

Drivers can leave at that junction and come back on via the on slip.

In a social media post, the PSNI Road Safety and Policing unit said: "Please note, the M2 northbound in Ballymena will be closed for approximately 2-3 hours at the Broughshane junction, junction 11, to facilitate recovery of a lorry.

"Traffic can leave at that junction and come back on via the on slip."

Motorists should be aware of the road closure on Thursday and take it into account when making their journeys.
