Police have taken action in order to stop drifters from using a piece of private land in Co Antrim.
After receiving complaints from the landowner, police have closed off access to an area known as 'The Yard' at Dunrod Road, Nutt's Corner, Crumlin.
They say that while it may be upsetting to drifting fans, the owners have helped police to erect new railings and gates at the site and that they will be monitoring the area in the coming weeks and months.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "This post may upset some diffing/drifting fans but sadly The Yard is no more. We have received many complaints in relation to the diffing/drifting which takes place on this private land on the Dundrod Road, Nutt's Corner, Crumlin.
"The issue is not that the land is private. The key issue is that those using the land for diffing/drifting have no permission to be there. The owners of the land have assisted police in going to significant expense to install railings and gates. Quite often they return to find the gates are forced, padlocks broken and boulders removed.
"Regrettably we have had to take new measures to prevent crime taking place. Antrim Neighbourhood Policing Team are monitoring the area and where damage is observed and offenders identified we will be taking action. A number of operations are now planned and will be taking place over the weeks and months ahead.
"Details of those trespassing will be provided to the owner, who can take their own legal action to prohibit further destruction."
