PSNI statement after three vehicle crash on Andersonstown Road

Police are appealing for information following a collision in West Belfast on Monday night.

Officers say they responded to reports of the crash on Andersonstown Road shortly after 8.30pm.

The road was closed for several hours as emergency services attended.

A PSNI statement on Monday night confirmed that one arrest has been made.

"Police are investigating a three vehicle road traffic collision which took place at Andersonstown Road in West Belfast," a spokesperson added.

"The incident was reported to police shortly after 8.30pm.

"A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences and remains in police custody at this time.

"Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have any information which may assist them with their enquiries, or any dash-cam footage, to contact 101 quoting reference number 1757 of 27/09/21."

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service told Belfast Live that one patient was taken to hospital.
