PSNI say body found during searches for missing man Andrew Robert Clement Bell

Police have confirmed that the body of a male has been found during searches for missing man Andrew Robert Clement Bell.

The 80-year-old is from the Stranmillis area of South Belfast and was last seen Wednesday, February around 12pm.

And neighbours witnesses a fire at his house the following day, Thursday.

In a statement on East Belfast PSNI's Facebook page, officers confirmed that a post mortem will take place in due course.  

They said: "Officers investigating the disappearance of 80-year-old Andrew Robert Clement Bell can confirm that a body has been discovered at a house in the Stranmillis area of Belfast.

"A formal identification and post-mortem examination will take place in due course. There are no further details at this stage."
