PSNI recover heroin from pregnant woman found in disabled toilet in Lisburn

Heroin has been seized from a woman who was eight months pregnant following an incident in a disabled toilet in Lisburn.

Officers say they were alerted to the incident by 'eagle eyed Citywatch NI' operators who had observed two people enter disabled toilets in Castle Gardens, Lisburn.

When police arrived, inside the toilet they found two people 'known to the team' one of whom was a female who was eight months pregnant.

Highlighting the shocking incident, a PSNI Lisburn spokesperson posted on Facebook: "Speedy response from the boys and the door was opened quickly. Inside were 2 people known to the team and heroin was recovered from a female inside, to make this story worse the female was 8 months pregnant. I think this proves the point and the hold that this horrible drug has on people and the devastation this has on people and the whole community.

"Social services are aware and will look after the welfare of the unborn child and the female involved. Someone was happy to supply this life wrecking drug to a pregnant woman.

"This was only possible with working well with CitywatchNI operators.

"We need information to tackle this horrible problem so anything suspicious that you see please either report it directly to us or via Crimestoppers charity anonymously because if we don’t know this is happening we can’t deal with the problem."
