The PSNI has praised a member of the public after their heroic actions in Belfast city centre yesterday.
Police say the person "aided in the detention of a male on Glengall Street" after he had tried to flee.
An officer explained: "This male was attempting to make off from police following being seen acting suspiciously in the area.

"He had good reason to attempt to make off as well. Following his apprehension he was searched under the misuse of drugs act and found to have a large quantity of prohibited substances in his possession.
"He was subsequently arrested for these offences and will be spending the night in the cells at Musgrave for his troubles.
"Police would like to thank the member of public who aided in the detention."
