PSNI on the hunt for goats on the loose near Co Antrim road

Police officers in Larne were caught in a frantic chase on Tuesday morning — to apprehend several goats - that they were unable to locate.

The PSNI had received several reports of the farm animals on or close to the A8 road near a local BP garage.

Larne police took to social media to reveal that four or five goats had been reported in the area, but each time officers attended the scene the goats were no longer there.

Posting on Facebook, they said: "If you know who owns the goats please get in touch with them and ask them to ensure they are secured.

"As the animals are causing a danger to road users we will ask DAERA to assist and lift them.

"Thanks for your help."
