PSNI on scene after discovery of suspected World War II grenade in forest

Police are in Bangor after a suspected WWII grenade was found.

PSNI are in the town's Lisnabreen area after the device was found in a forest in Newtownards earlier today.

It is unclear how the device got from Ards to Bangor.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police in Bangor are currently in attendance at the Lisnabreen area of Bangor following the discovery of what is believed to be a World War II grenade. The grenade has been taken away to be made safe by the relevant agencies.

"The grenade was discovered in a forest in the Newtownards area earlier today."
