PSNI officers' kind gesture for elderly woman after fall

PSNI officers in East Belfast did something special for an elderly woman after she fell getting onto a bus this morning.

The neighbourhood officers were on the scene after the incident on the Beersbridge Road on Friday morning, March 26.

She had been on her way to buy her favourite TV guide but due to her injury, couldn't get to the shop.

So officers went to the local newsagent and bought her a copy and posted it through her door so she wouldn't miss out on her favourite TV shows.

In a post on PSNI East Belfast, an officer said: "Officers from the Local Policing Team in Strandtown came across an elderly lady this morning in the Beersbridge Road area who had fallen whilst getting onto a bus.

"We would like to thank the Translink driver and local residents who helped to care for her until an ambulance arrived. Prior to the fall, she was on her way to buy her favourite TV guide, however, due to her injury, wasn’t able to complete her task!

"Not wanting her to miss out on her favourite programmes, our officers went to a local newsagents, purchased the TV guide, and delivered it to her house! We would all like to wish her a speedy recovery!"
