Police investigating a report of blackmail are trying to identify a man “who may be able to assist with their enquiries”, they said today.
The alleged offence occurred in February this year, the PSNI said in a statement they released along with an image of the man they wish to speak to.
Detective Constable McMahon added: “We would now like to identify a male, who was in the Ormeau Road area of South Belfast on Monday 4th February who we believe can assist with our enquiries.
“The identification of this individual is of vital importance to this investigation. Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who can help identify this individual or who has any details in relation to the incidents referred, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 352 05/02/19.”
The police added that potential witnesses can also ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
They did not release any details of the offence they are investigating.
