PSNI investigating after child assaulted in Craigavon

A 12-year-old boy has sustained injuries after a "violent robbery" in Co Armagh.

He was one of two boys attacked and robbed in separate incidents in Craigavon, on Saturday afternoon.

It has been confirmed by police that one of the youngsters sustained a puncture wound to his arm and needed emergency treatment.

He was assaulted and robbed of 'an electronic accessory' believed to be a phone.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives in Lurgan are investigating reports of two street robberies in the Tullygally and Brownlow areas of Craigavon on Saturday 17th October.

"Both incidents occurred between 4pm and 5pm and involved a group of teenage male youths targeting other male youths walking alone in the area.

"On both occasions items were taken from the victims with violence or the threat of violence used however neither sustained any serious injuries.

"Anyone with any information about these incidents or who may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call detectives in Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.
