PSNI in urgent appeal for child who did not show up for school

Police are appealing for the public to help them trace down the whereabouts of a young child.

The 11-year-old, pictured above, is from the Lisburn area and was last seen at approximately 9am on Friday morning after not turning up at school.

In a missing person appeal, the PSNI say he is believed to be on the tow path towards the Lady Dixon and Belfast direction "however he could be anywhere".

Their appeal continued: "If you have seen this young male whilst out this morning please contact us on 101 quoting Police reference 840 of 11/6/2021.

"He is described as being approx. 160cm tall and of broad build with short ginger hair and is wearing a light grey hooded top, light grey shorts, light grey trainers with white soles as he is believed to have changed out of his school uniform and is carrying a dark grey/ green backpack."
