PSNI dealing with security alert in West Belfast after discovery of "suspicious object"

Police are currently dealing with a security alert in West Belfast on Saturday evening.

The PSNI attended the Glasvey Drive area of the city on August 14 following the discovery of a "suspicious object".

There are reports that cordons in the Twinbrook area have been extended but there is no further information at this time.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "Police are currently dealing with a security alert in the Glasvey Drive area of west Belfast following the discovery of a suspicious object.

"There are no further details at present."
