PSNI called to outdoor rave at 5.40am in Belfast

The PSNI were called to an outdoor rave involving as many as 80 young people in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police arrived at a car park on the Upper Hightown Road in North Belfast to find the large crowd gathered.

They dispersed the crowd and the area 'returned to normal'.

A spokesperson said: "Police received a report shortly after 5.40am this morning that a large number of young people had gathered in the Upper Hightown Road area of Belfast.

"Officers attended the location where they estimated between 60 to 80 young people had gathered.

"On police arrival the crowd dispersed, the area returned to normal and there were no further reports.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
