PSNI attend two Belfast crashes

Emergency Services are at the scene of a crash at The Cutts on the outskirts of Belfast.

PSNI Road Policing are advising motorists to approach the area with caution following the incident at the junction of McKinstry Road and The Cutts.

Sinn Fein councillor Daniel Baker has said he hopes "everyone is OK" and urged motorists to "avoid the area if possible".

He told Belfast Live: "I have no update on the passengers. I pray they are OK.

"The warning signs of this road have been there for many years. It needs urgent intervention."

A PSNI spoksperson said: "Police, Fire and Ambulance service are currently at the scene of an RTC at the junction of McKinstry Road/The Cutts in the Lisburn and Castlereagh Policing area.

"Traffic is currently under restriction. Please approach this area with Caution."

They later added: "Police received a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at the Derriaghy Road area of Dunmurry this morning (Tuesday 24 November).

"Shortly before 9am, it was reported to police that a grey Ford Fiesta Zetec and a white Suzuki Swift were involved in the incident. A woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s were taken to hospital following the incident for injuries not believed to be serious."

Police say the incident at The Cutts has now been cleared.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 08.57 on Tuesday, 24 November 2020 following reports of two vehicle RTC at The Cutts, Derriaghy, Belfast.

"NIAS dispatched two Emergency crews and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the scene.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast."

In South Belfast, there is no right turn onto Belvoir Road following an incident there.

TrafficwatchNI said a collision took place on before 10am on the "Milltown Road - approaching from Hospital Road direction on right turn lane at traffic lights heading onto Belvoir Road towards Forestside/Saintfield Road".

As a result traffic in the area is impacted.
