Police are investigating a shooting incident in Co Antrim.
Just after 7.30pm on Monday night, police received a report that a man had been shot at a residential property in Mosside Gardens outside Ballymoney.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "An investigation is now underway. Anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with information about it is asked to call detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1841 of 22/02/21.
"A report can also be submitted online at http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 19:32 following reports of the shooting incident.
A spokesperson told Belfast Live: "NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic and an Emergency Crew to the incident.
"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, the male patient was taken to Causeway Hospital."
DUP MLA Mervyn Storey expressed his concern over the shooting.
"Over the last number of months there have been an increased number of such attacks," he said.
"I have previously expressed my concern and that of the local community, that if there is not an end to these incidents someone is going to get seriously injured or even worse.
"Whatever the reason and whoever is involved I would urge them to bring this reign of terror to an end.
"Anyone with any information should give that to the Police as a matter of urgency."
