PSNI arrest two men after delivery driver's car reportedly stolen in Belfast

An incident in North Belfast where a car was reportedly stolen from a delivery driver has been slammed as "reckless".

The car is believed to have been stopped by police after hitting five other vehicles in Duneden Park and "causing injuries and shock to a number of motorists".

SDLP councillor Paul McCusker said: "Residents have been in contact following an incident involving a car that was [reported] stolen in Ardoyne of a pizza delivery driver. The car has now been stopped by police after hitting five other vehicles and causing injuries and shock to a number of motorists.

"This was totally reckless as someone could have been seriously injured or killed tonight.

"Sending my support to the delivery driver and those who were injured and were left in shock, this is unacceptable."

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed to Belfast Live that police have arrested two men aged 26 and 27.

They were both arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.

They added: "It is reported the stolen car collided with a number of vehicles in the area.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information or dashcam footage should contact police on 101 quoting reference 1696 of 04/06/21."
