PSNI appeal launched after teenage boy 'assaulted by two masked men'

Police are investigating a report of an assault on a teenage boy by two masked men in Co Armagh.

It's said to have occurred on Thursday, December 17 at around 7pm on Drumgor Road in Craigavon.

It was reported one of the men was armed with a shotgun and that the teenage boy suffered facial injuries.

PSNI Detective Inspector Simpson said: “One of the men has been described as being around 5ft 6ins tall and wore a navy balaclava, a waterproof-style black coat, black work-style trousers with black footwear and black gloves.

“The second man has been described as being around 5ft 10ins tall and wore dark-coloured clothing. It was reported the teenage boy suffered facial injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information which could help our investigation to contact our detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1672 of 17/12/20."

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a suspected attempt to harm birds of prey in a quarry in Co Armagh.

This follows a report made to the PSNI on Saturday, November 28.

It is believed pigeons "may have been tethered in order to attract larger birds of prey".

Police Armagh, Banbride and Craigavon posted a statement on Facebook and added: "Investigations are currently ongoing to establish if the birds had been laced with poison.

"Police are keen to speak to three males who were seen in the area driving a grey southern registered van.

"Anyone with any information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 952 of 28/11/20."
