PSNI appeal after woman sexually assaulted in Coleraine

Police are appealing for help after a woman was reportedly sexually assaulted.

The assault allegedly took place in the Railway Road/ Mill Street area of Coleraine.

It happened on Saturday September 25 at around 11.30pm.

In a statement on Tuesday, a PSNI spokeman said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a report was made of a serious sexual assault on a female in the Railway Road/ Mill Street area at around 11.30pm."

Officers said enquiries are continuing and shared an appeal with anyone who may have witnessed the assault.

Detectives urged anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed something suspicious to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 80 26/09/21.
