PSNI appeal after school children 'throw item onto M2' striking lorry

Police are appealing for information after a lorry was struck by an item while traveling along the M2 on Monday.

Officers say on November 15 at around 3.20pm, a group of youths who were in their school uniform, were observed on the Bellevue Bridge in Glengormley.

An item was reportedly thrown by one of the youths, striking the windscreen of the vehicle.

"This behaviour is incredibly reckless and dangerous and will not be tolerated," a PSNI spokesperson added.

"An investigation is under way. CCTV enquiries are being made and further enquiries will be made with the school.

"If you witnessed this incident or possess dash cam footage of the incident Police would be very keen to speak to you.

"Phone 101 quoting Police reference number 1289 of 15th November 2021."
