PSNI appeal after men pulled from vehicle and beaten with baseball bat

Detectives are appealing for information after an incident in Newtownards on Thursday night.

At 7.20pm on April 1, it was reported that two men were pulled from a vehicle by up to five men in the Weavers Grange area.

Police say one of the victims was beaten with a baseball bat.

A further report was then made 15 minutes later that a man who was located in his vehicle had been assaulted.

Detective Inspector Snoddy added: "Police and NIAS responded and the man located in the car, who is aged in his thirties, was taken to hospital for an arm injury.

"One of the suspects is described as being aged mid- 40s to 50s, and is reported to have worn a grey-coloured tracksuit and a black hat. The other suspect is described as being aged in his 30s with a shaved head. He is reported to have worn dark grey tracksuit bottoms with a red and dark grey top.

"Enquiries into this incident are continuing and anyone who saw what happened, or has information about this incident, is asked to get in touch with us. The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 1850 01/04/21.
