PSNI appeal after hit and run 'smash' in Portrush

Police are appealing for information after a hit and run crash on Tuesday.

In the early hours of this morning, police attended the scene of the collision on Mark Street in Portrush.

On arrival, a MINI Cooper Countryman was crashed into a park vehicle - with no driver in sight.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "A MINI Cooper Countryman had quite the smash with a thankfully unattended, parked vehicle.

"Unfortunately the driver has not hung about to speak with us.

"Any information contact Police on 101 and quote reference number CW114 from 09/03/21You can also contact us online at http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

"Alternatively information can be passed anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-UK.org/."

Meanwhile, police are investigating a report of an incident in the Balfour Avenue area of South Belfast just before 3am on Monday.

A PSNI spokesperon added: "A teenage male was taken to hospital for treatment of stab wounds. Two people have been arrested in relation to this incident."
