PSNI appeal after assault leaves man in hospital with head injury

A man remains in hospital in a stable condition after an assault in South Belfast on Saturday.

Police say they received and responded to a report of an assault on a male in the Dublin Road area at around 9.45pm last night.

Following an altercation, the man fell and sustained a head injury.

Inspector Brown said: "Police received and responded to a report of an assault on a male in the Dublin Road area at around 9.45pm.

"Colleagues from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also attended the scene, and the male was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable but serious condition at this time.

"Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed it, or who may have any information which could assist, to call 101 and quote reference number 2018 of 28/05/22.

"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

"You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/."
