PSNI appeal after '14-year-old girl approached by male' in South Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old girl was approached by a man in South Belfast.

The incident is reported to have taken place on Sunday, June 20, at approximately 7.30pm in the Wolseley Street/Cromwell Road area off Botanic Avenue.

A man described as being in his late 30s with a dark bear and grey t-shirt is understood to have approached a 14-year-old girl.

Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or been in the area at the time to contact them. They would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage at that time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area of Wolseley Street/ Cromwell Road, Belfast on Sunday 20th June 2021 at approximately 7.30PM.

"It was reported to police that a 14 year old female was approached by a male. He was described as being aged late 30's, with a dark beard and wearing a grey T-shirt.

"If you were in the area at the time, or possibly have any dash cam footage, we would like to hear from you. You can contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1917 of the 20/06/2021."
