Mint Retrograde has taken Destiny 2 by storm during The Edge of Fate as the best weapon in the Kinetic slot. With the release of the Renegades expansion, there’s now an alternative weapon for you to use in the Energy slot in the form of Psi Aeterna IV.
Psi Aeterna IV is an Arc rocket-assisted pulse rifle. If Mint Retrograde leans more into damage, Psi Aeterna IV is all about elemental synergy, with perks like Jolting Feedback, Rolling Storm, and a new addition, Trickle Charge.
Here are our Psi Aeterna IV god rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

Psi Aeterna IV leans heavily into Arc synergy and works best with an Arc build. In the third column, a new perk, Trickle Charge, refills the mag from reserves when you receive or discharge Bolt Charge stacks. It’s a fantastic perk to have your magazine always topped up, especially if you have an initial source of Bolt Charge in your build. This is because when you have at least one stack of Bolt Charge, dealing sustained damage grants additional stacks, making it easy to maintain Trickle Charge’s uptime.
If you don’t have any sources of Bolt Charge, there’s Rolling Storm in the fourth column. Rolling Storm grants a stack of Bolt Charge when getting a kill, with two stacks if you’re amplified. Otherwise, Jolting Feedback is a great option to jolt targets, making them take additional damage. For raw damage, you can also go for One for All to get a 35 percent damage increase after hitting three separate targets.
Rocket pulse rifles aren’t really PvP weapons, but you can try Psi Aeterna IV out with Beacon Rounds and Adrenaline Junkie. Both perks trigger by getting a kill, with Beacon Rounds granting projectiles tracking and Adrenaline Junkie increasing damage, up to 33.3 percent at five stacks.
How to get Psi Aeterna IV in Destiny 2

Psi Aeterna IV drops from Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops, and Arena Ops in the Portal. There’s a chance to get it whenever you complete any activity in those playlists.
However, the best way to farm Psi Aeterna IV, especially if you want a god roll Tier 5, is when it becomes a Bonus Focus drop on any of the activities.
