Liverpool face a battle to qualify for the knockout round of the Champions League after losing 2-1 against PSG in the penultimate match of their group.
Napoli lead Group C on nine points, PSG trail in second on eight while Liverpool have six, which means that Jurgen Klopp’s side must beat the Italians when they visit Anfield in a couple of weeks to stand any chance of qualifying for the next round.
James Milner gave Liverpool a lifeline just before half-time with his penalty conversion to half the deficit created by Juan Bernat and Neymar’s early efforts, but the visitors could not find an equalising goal in the second half.
