PSG v RB Leipzig odds, predictions and a 17/2 first scorer tip

It's the petro dollar versus the soft drink millions showdown - Paris St Germain versus Red Bull Leipzig - but is there money to be made for the casual punter from tonight's Champions League semi-final?

Undoubtedly - but tipsters should tread carefully.

Leipzig are what the bookies call live outsiders, and Julian Nagelsmann's side are very much alive and kicking.

They are a big priced 10/3 with thepools.com despite having avoided defeat in each of their last seven Champions League matches, having emerged unscathed from two clashes with Bayern Munich last season and having deservedly ended Atletico Madrid's interest in the competition in the quarter-finals.

They are so long because of PSG's star studded line up, names like Neymar, Mbappe and Icardi ensuring that the French giants are capable of scoring against absolutely anybody.

In fact PSG have scored in each of their last 33 European encounters, and if they can defend solidly they could justify their odds of 3/4 .

But it's a big 'if'. PSG left it alarmingly late to turn around a deficit against Atalanta in the quarter-finals and have failed to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 knockout ties at this level.

Leipzig have also managed just two shut-outs across their last 15 such tussles so thepools.com's offer of Both Teams To Score and 11 or more corners at 14/5 is very appealing.

Red Bull Leipzig are one of the Champions League's most prolific corner winners this campaign - only Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Liverpool out-cornering them. They may have to make most of that tally themselves though, with PSG as low as tenth in the Champions League corner kick compilers.

Understandably Kylian Mbappe and Neymar top the first scorer markets at 10/3 and 7/2 but given PSG's less than rigid back four don't rule out a Leipzig first scorer.

The Germans have no fears about playing away from home - only Bayern Munich scored more away goals in last season's Bundesliga - and Dani Olmo who scored Leipzig's first in the quarter-finals is an intriguing 17/2 first scorer with thepools.com.

Since joining Leipzig, the attacking midfielder has scored a total of five goals in 14 appearances and when in the starting XI, Olmo has landed Anytime Scorer bets in three out of 10 games.

His anytime price is 11/4 .
