PSG star Kylian Mbappe and manager Thomas Tuchel give Celtic verdict

PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has praised Celtic and said they gave his side a difficult time.

The Ligue 1 champions may have won 4-0 in their pre-season friendly at the Parc des Princes, but Mbappe and his manager Thomas Tuchel were respectful when it came to talking about Neil Lennon's side.

Mbappe gave PSG the perfect start when he put them ahead inside the first minute.

Speaking at half-time with his side 2-0 up, Mbappe said: "We feel better and better and we are happy to suffer. We know that, for what awaits us, we will need to suffer so it was welcome.

"Afterwards, maybe we didn't expect it as much, but it's good that we can suffer a little. It's a good level match, against a team that came to play and put us in difficulty. It's good."

Culture PSG quote Mbappe's boss Tuchel as saying: "We were playing against a very strong team, Celtic, and it's not easy to play against this formation. I am happy."

Celtic captain Scott Brown missed the defeat, and in quotes reported by Record Sport his manager Lennon explained: "Scott has maybe a little trapped nerve, it’s tracking his back and hamstring. There was no point taking a risk.”
