PSG's Kylian Mbappe record won't define me, insists Motherwell's Tyler Magloire

Motherwell's Tyler Magloire insists he wants to be remembered for more than being quicker than superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The Englishman became Blackburn Rovers' fastest-ever player on record in 2019 when he clocked a speed of 10.6 metres per second.

Magloire's top speed is faster than that of France's World Cup winning star Mbappe who registered an impressive 10.55 metres per second against Monaco.

“I had a quicker top speed last season. It’s not a bad thing to have but I don’t want it to be the only thing that I’m known for," Magloire said.

“I’ve got more to my game than just being able to run quick and being up here is a great opportunity to show that."

“It’s never really been a problem for me. I enjoy when I come up against a striker who thinks he’s quick so I can put him in his place a bit.

“That’s part of the game that I enjoy a lot, yeah.”

The 22 year-old is certainly demonstrating that he possesses more attributes to his game than just pace after moving to Motherwell in February.

Magloire is composed, comfortable in possession and he is relishing the physical nature of Scottish football.

He's formed an impressive understanding with Ricki Lamie to help the Steelmen record consecutive clean sheets.

Although Declan Gallagher returned from injury against Hibs, Magloire has a strong claim to start against Livingston next week but he emphasised the importance of teamwork.

He said: “All the lads are doing well but it’s more than just the eleven on the pitch - it’s a squad game.

“Everybody is working hard in training to push people on. That’s where the results come from - the hard work in training.

“The job isn’t done yet. It’s not just about being away from relegation, it’s about winning as many games as possible.

“We want to continue winning games so the hard work never stops. We will be ready to go again next week.
