PSG prepare to sign Raphael Varane amid Manchester United interest and more transfer rumours

Paris Saint-Germain have made enquiries to sign Raphael Varane this summer.

That is according Spanish outlet MARCA who report Mauricio Pochettino's side are interested in signing the World Cup winner and it's expected that Varane will leave Real Madrid after the European Championship, with just one year left on his deal at the Bernabeu.

PSG will face competition from Manchester United for Varane's signature, though, and the Reds have already submitted a £50m bid for the centre-back, but it has been previously claimed that Madrid will demand £80m to sanction an exit for the 28-year-old.

The MEN understand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for a new central defender and United are also considering signing Pau Torres.

However, fresh details from El Confidencial claim that Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, suspect Varane has already agreed to move to Old Trafford this summer and it's believed that those at Los Blancos are 'nervous' over his silence on his future.

Regarding any departures from United, TalkSPORT suggest Brandon Williams could leave on loan, with both Newcastle and Southampton interested in the full-back and it was claimed in January that the latter were close to completing a loan deal.

Solskjaer reportedly blocked Williams' loan move to Southampton, but it now seems he won't stand in the way this time around.
