PSG name their price for Man Utd transfer target Thomas Meunier

Paris Saint-Germain have slapped a £26million price tag on Manchester United target Thomas Meunier - and now Arsenal and Chelsea have joined the race to sign the defender.

Under-pressure United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to oversee a huge squad overhaul this summer after a woeful season for the Old Trafford club.

They were knocked out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Barcelona last week and are struggling to finish in the Premier League’s top-four this season.

The right-back position is one of Solskjaer’s priorities to strengthen, with Meunier and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka top of his list.

But United aren’t the only Premier League club who are keeping tabs on Meunier’s situation with his current French employers.

RMC Sport have claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea and both keen on bolstering their defensive ranks and could rival United for the Belgian’s signature.

PSG are willing to part ways with the defender if they receive a £26m fee, which has alerted potential suitors.

Meunier’s contract expires at the end of next season but the French champions are yet to offer the 27-year-old fresh terms.

Man Utd transfer target Thomas Meunier admits desire to move to Premier League

The defender recently spoke about his future in Paris, and admitted he would like to finish the season on a high despite making just 20 league appearances.

Speaking to French media outlet L'Avenir , he said: "It's true, I had a rough season, but a title is still a title and I am very happy.

"You know, even if I only took part in four or five matches in 2019, my stats, offensive and defensive, are among the best in the PSG defence alongside (Juan) Bernat's.

"Last year, although I had played less than during my first season in France, I felt I had progressed. Here, it's the same."
