PSG name their price for Arsenal transfer target Layvin Kurzawa

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly told Arsenal that it will cost them at least €5m (around £4.2m) to sign French defender Layvin Kurzawa during the current transfer window.

The 27-year-old is said to be one of Mikel Arteta's top targets as he looks to strengthen his defence before the end of the month, and the Gunners have been tracking the player for the last few months.

Kurzawa's contract expires at the end of the season, and PSG are allegedly willing to allow him to leave before then as they do not see a long-term future for him at the club.

And according to the Telegraph they are demanding at least £4.2m to let the player depart, a fee which it is expected Arsenal will be willing to pay.

Kurzawa first joined PSG in 2015, but has never become a first-team regular at Parc des Princes, and has mainly been a backup to Juan Bernat this season.

Nevertheless Kurzawa has plenty of experience, winning three Ligue 1 titles with the French club, and would add strength in depth to the Arsenal back line.

The Gunners are yet to make a signing since the transfer window opened, despite Arteta insisting they were searching for potential transfers.

Speaking earlier this month the Spaniard said: "At the moment there is nothing coming up. The club is working on a few things but you know how difficult this window is an I'm not expecting many things."

Arsenal managed to snatch a point from their game against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening despite going down to ten men after David Luiz was sent off after just 26 minutes.

The result means they remain 10th in the table, but they will next turn their attentions to the FA Cup when they travel to Bournemouth on Monday.
