PSG 'make move' for Dele Alli over transfer with Tottenham future in doubt

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly opened talks with Tottenham regarding a potential transfer for Dele Alli.

The forward was left out of Tottenham's squad for the trip to Southampton on Sunday sparking fresh doubts over his future at the club.

Alli was hauled off at half-time during Spurs' defeat to Everton last week and did not travel to Bulgaria for the Europa League clash with Lokomotiv Plovdiv in midweek.

His omission from the fixture at St. Marys has raised further questions over his relationship with boss Jose Mourinho amid rumours of a rift.

According to The Telegraph , PSG are now hopeful of capitalising on the situation by snapping up Alli before the window slams shut.

There is a possibility the French champions could approach Spurs about an initial loan to include an option to buy the England ace next summer.

Tottenham have just struck a deal to bring Gareth Bale to the club for the whole of this campaign which could now free up Alli to move elsewhere.

Alli was reported to have been discussed in negotiations between Madrid and Tottenham.

PSG are the leading candidates to secure his services though, while Inter Milan are also interested in taking him on loan.

The 24-year-old appears to have fallen out of favour with Mourinho, who instead opted to hand outcast Tanguy Ndombele a fresh chance in midfield alongside Giovani Lo Celso and new boy Pierre-Emerick Hojbjerg.

Mourinho's issues with Alli came to light in the recently released Amazon documentary All Or Nothing, where he criticised his player of being "lazy".

Speaking in his post-match comments following the Everton defeat Mourinho again hinted Alli had not applied himself on the pitch while questioning the mentality of some of his stars.

"We were lazy in our pressing," Mourinho said. "That is a consequence of bad fitness, bad pre-season. Some players didn't even have a pre-season.

"Some players had a wrong state of mind. I don't want to speak about it - I'm not sure about it."

Alli is on a long-term contract at Spurs worth £100,000 per week and PSG have been given signals that a deal could be possible.
