Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will require further medical tests ahead of their crucial Champions League tie against Liverpool.

Both forwards suffered injuries while on international duty this week with the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s side just seven days away.

Neymar lasted just eight minutes into Brazil's game against Cameroon, pulling up with a muscular injury.

Mbappe didn’t last much longer, forced off after half an hour in France’s friendly against Uruguay after a heavy landing left him nursing his shoulder.

PSG have now confirmed Neymar suffered a “right adductor strain” with Mbappe recovering from bruising on his right shoulder.

The club added in a short statement the pair will undergo a 48-hour period of treatment before further evaluation.

After losing at Anfield in September, PSG currently sit third in Group C, a point adrift of Jurgen Klopp’s side and group leaders Napoli with just two games left.

They return to domestic action at home to Toulouse on Saturday afternoon.
