PSG have Kylian Mbappe fitness concern ahead of Man City game

Paris Saint-Germain hope that Kylian Mbappe will be fit in time to face Manchester City after being forced to sit out training on Monday.

The French superstar played 90 minutes against Nantes at the weekend and opened the scoring after two minutes, but was unable to join the rest of the squad for training at the beginning of this week.

Mauricio Pochettino explained that the striker would be involved in their session at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night as they went through their final preparations for the game, with the idea that Mbappe can work his way to fitness in time for the game on Wednesday.

"Yesterday he could not train but we hope that it is a small issue. Today you will see that he is in the training session," the PSG coach said. "I hope tomorrow he is well and the training session today helps him to arrive in the best condition for tomorrow."

PSG are able to include Sergio Ramos in their squad for the first time since his summer arrival from Real Madrid, and midfielder Marco Verratti spoke of how pleased the rest of the group have been to see him in training.

Pochettino hailed his presence in Manchester as an important step on the road back to full fitness but insisted there were more steps to come, suggesting that the Etihad may come too soon for Ramos to be handed his first start for the French club.

City could be missing Jack Grealish as well as Ferran Torres and Kevin De Bruyne; the England international was not involved in training on Tuesday, with a final decision to be taken on the morning of the match.
