PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola buys London home as he eyes potential Premier League move

Alphonse Areola has purchased a house in London amid speculation over a move to the Premier League.

The PSG goalkeeper was sent out on loan to Real Madrid last summer following the arrival of Keylor Navas.

But with Thibaut Courtois in the Spanish capital he found game time hard to come by, making just a hand full of appearances.

The door at PSG looks to be shut but Areola is hoping to be part of France's Euro squad next summer and will have to prove his worth.

Several English clubs could be on the hunt for a new No 1 with Chelsea looking the most obvious.

The 27-year-old is represented by super agent Mino Raiola, who currently has no players at Chelsea.

It makes Areola's choice of location all the more telling after his wife flaunted his property on social media.

She said: “A few years ago our dream was to have our home in London. Our dream came true. Happiness blessed.”

The Blues are keen to offload record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga if possible with Frank Lampard benching the Spaniard at times this season.

Chelsea spent £71m on him just two years ago but are already on the look out for a new shot stopper having been aggressive in the transfer market thus far.

Shipping goals has been a problem for Lampard this term and they have also been linked with Dean Henderson.

The goalkeeper is on loan at Sheffield United where he has been a star performer.

But his future remains unclear with parent club keen to keep hold of him despite having David de Gea as their No 1.

Chelsea could yet swoop in and take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the situation.
