Edinson Cavani was forced off injured just days before Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League showdown with Manchester United.

After opening the scoring against Bordeaux from the penalty spot on Saturday, Cavani left the pitch just before half-time holding his thigh.

“I don’t have good news. We have to wait," PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said post-match.

“I honestly don’t know if Cavani will play. Yes it is worrying. We don’t have another Edi like we don’t have another Neymar."

Kylian Mbappe, who was rested ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Old Trafford, came onto replace the Uruguay international for the Paris giants.

Marco Verratti also started and is in contention to do so against United having recovered from an ankle injury suffered back in early January.

The Italy international played for 58 minutes before he was replaced by Leandro Paredes, who was making his home debut for the French champions following his arrival from Zenit St Petersburg.

PSG however will be without Neymar for both legs of the last 16 tie due to a foot injury.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer meanwhile was able to rest Marcus Rashford as United strolled to a 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba were also replaced after 70 and 74 minutes respectively.
