PSG director's five-word message on Neymar transfer after meeting with Barcelona

PSG sporting director Leonardo Araujo is remaining coy over Neymar's transfer to Barcelona following a meeting between the two clubs.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on signing the Brazil international, but the Catalan club have stolen a march on their bitter rivals.

Neymar, who left Barcelona for PSG in a world-record transfer back in 2017, has reportedly made it clear he only wants a return to his former team.

Barcelona are set to pay £154million for Neymar over two installments.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has instructed sporting director Leonardo and his lawyer Djamal Bouras to speak to representatives from Barcelona.

The pair met with Eric Abidal, Javier Bordas and CEO Oscar Grau in Paris to thrash out a transfer for Neymar. Barcelona chief Andre Cury is still in France until Wednesday.

Speaking after the meeting Leonardo told L'Equipe: "We will talk with calm."

Bordas, meanwhile, spoke to the press at El Prat airport. "There is no agreement. Not yet," Bordas said. "We are still negotiating and I think we are closer."

Barcelona kick-stated their campaign with a 5-2 win over Real Betis at the weekend.

Both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez missed the match through injury, but watched from the stands as new signing Antoine Griezmann introduced himself to the Barcelona fans with two goals.
