Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has played down talk that Mauricio Pochettino could make a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are still on the lookout for a new permanent manager following Jose Mourinho's sacking in April.
Ryan Mason took temporary charge of the north London club, but announced his departure with a farewell message on Twitter recently.
As reported by football.london on Thursday, Spurs have spoken to Pochettino and it is believed that he would be interested in a return to the club despite only being named PSG's head coach less than six months ago.
However, according to Leonardo, the Argentine coach is the right man for the job in Paris.
“Mauricio Pochettino has two years on his contract with PSG, and we are very happy," he said to Europe 1.
According to Goal, Real Madrid have identified Pochettino as their 'number one target' following Zinedine Zidane's departure last week.
They also claim that the former Spurs boss retains a special affection towards PSG despite his desire to leave the French giants.
When speaking in April 2020 about his time with Tottenham, Pochettino admitted that he would want to return to the club again in the future.
"It was an amazing journey that finished the way no one wanted it to finish," he told BT Sport (via Sky Sports ).
"But deep in my heart, I am sure our paths will cross again. From the day I left the club, my dream is to be back one day and to try to finish the work we didn't finish. We were so closing to winning the Premier League and Champions League.
"But of course I am looking forward to moving on and I am so motivated for the next project.
"But deep inside I want to go back because the fans are so special. Maybe in five years, maybe in 10 years, but before I die I want to manage Tottenham.
"I want to feel what it means to win one title with Tottenham because the fans are amazing, all the love we received was amazing and that is a good opportunity to pay back all the love they showed us from day one."
