PSG chief confirms Neymar and Kylian Mbappe talks as Brazilian star makes feelings known

Paris Saint-Germain chief Nasser Al Khelaifi has given an update on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe's situation at the club.

Both have been linked with moves away as their contracts dwindle down.

The pair have deals that expire in the summer of 2022 and will enter the final year of their contracts next season.

Real Madrid are desperate to sign Mbappe while there has been talk of Neymar returning to Barcelona.

But Al Khelaifi has allayed fears from their fans that their dynamic duo could be on the way out.

He said: “We’ve opened talks to keep Mbappe and Neymar. I’m confident because they want to stay here.”

And Neymar has broken his own silence, explaining how he is keen on staying at PSG.

He said: “I am very happy here in Paris. I am very happy at the club, with my teammates.

"The idea of leaving does not cross my mind.

“We need to talk. we have a very good relationship, I am very happy at Paris Saint-Germain.”

PSG replayed their Champions League clash against Istanbul Basaksehir this evening after the initial clash was abandoned.

It followed ugly scenes on Tuesday where the fourth official was accused of racially abusing Istanbul coach Pierre Webo.

Both sets of players walked off the pitch and play did not resume, leading to the decision to abandon the match for the day.

PSG were rampant in the subsequent fixture, though, with their two forwards proving pivotal.

They won 5-1, with Neymar scoring a hat-trick and Mbappe grabbing a brace.

Victory means they go top of the group with RB Leipzig coming second following their 3-2 win over Manchester United on Tuesday.

That also saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men drop into the Europa League, where they will contend with their English rivals Tottenham, Arsenal and Leicester.
