PSG captain Marquinhos warns Man City ahead of Champions League semi-final second leg

Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos has warned Manchester City that his side are fully equipped and motivated to turn their Champions League semi-final around.

City go into next week's second leg at the Etihad with a valuable two-goal lead thanks to a sensational second-half performance in Paris. PSG had dominated the first half, going ahead through Marquinhos, but Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez struck after the break, leaving the reigning French champions needing to score at least once to have a chance of going through to the final.

Despite City holding the advantage with two important away goals, Marquinhos believes his side will correct their first leg mistakes and show the warrior spirit needed to progress to a second successive Champions League final.

He said (via UEFA): "In the second half, we played too far back. We couldn't get forward. City were more aggressive. We'll have to be consistent in both halves of the return game. There are still 90 minutes to go.

"We'll have to analyse the match to see where we struggled. We've had problems in other games but managed to be stronger. We conceded two silly goals. Those are the little details that count. We'll need a good mentality and go there to play the best possible match."

Urging his side to back up their obvious quality with the right mentality, Marquinhos warned that PSG have everything needed to stun City and produce a big performance at the Etihad.

He said: "If we don't believe, then there's no point making the trip. We'll need a warrior mentality to go through. We're really close.

"We mustn't have any doubts now and we have to improve our weak points. We have everything we need to turn the situation around."
