PS5 stock: New GAME pre-orders expected tomorrow but Very refill delayed

The wait for a PlayStation 5 goes on for many gamers.

Fans are pinning their hopes on being able to order from GAME this week after supplies on Smyths and Amazon IT vanished within minutes earlier this week.

Tipsters have been suggested another opportunity to pre-order is just around the corner.

One, PS5StockAlertUK, tweeted on Wednesday: "GAME have added back some bundles in preparation for their PS5 drop. The links I posted yesterday for the standalone consoles still state 11th for payment, so tomorrow seems to be GAME’s drop date. The timeframe is expected between 9AM-4PM."

Another, PS5UKStock, added: "GAME are very likely to drop their stock tomorrow. Hearing around 8-11AM."

Birmingham Live reports that PS5 restock times in the past have varied between 10am and 3.30pm.

GAME is also taking pre-orders for the Xbox Series X again, and listing a release date of March 1.

Fans may struggle to find other options this week.

Online retailer Very had been expected to drop more stock in the coming days, but PS5StockAlertUK tweeted on Tuesday to say: "Very won’t be going live this week with the PS5. The company is still working hard to secure more stock, and will go live sometime next week."

A large number of consoles have ended up in the hands of scalpers, who have bought PS5s from retailers, sometimes by using bot accounts, to sell them on at inflated prices. This has left the number of consoles available for gamers much lower.

One MP, SNP's Douglas Chapman, is bringing a bill to parliament to try and stop this.

Called the Gaming Hardware (Automated Purchase and Resale) Bill 2019-21, it aims to crackdown on scalpers in a similar way ticket reselling websites were targeted a few years ago.
