PS5 latest stock updates as fans wait for Currys, Simply Games and Tesco stock to drop

It’s been an exciting week for gamers who have been patiently waiting for PlayStation 5 stock to drop at various retailers.

Due to stock shortage, it’s been hard for Sony fans to find a console, and when they do drop, stock sells out within minutes.

This week we’ve already seen some exciting stock drops, including at Very.co.uk, Argos and ShopTo.

John Lewis also dropped more stock during the night, but according to Twitter user PS5StockAlertUK, this was at 5am, and they sold out of “all stock in 1-2 minutes”.

PS5 fans were getting excited for new stock to drop at Currys this morning, but unfortunately they were left disappointed.

Sadly, new reports suggest that the Currys stock drop has been pushed back until March, according to Daily Express.

A Currys helpline spokesperson told the publication there won’t be a restock today.

But that doesn’t mean it’s all over. There are rumours that Simply Games, Scan and Tesco could get stock later this week.

In order to stay up-to-date with when exactly the stop drops, Twitter tipper PS5Instant recommends “turning notifications on for stock announcements on our discord. Whole team are monitoring stock there! And our live stream is running!”.

It may also help you to know exactly what time stock usually drops at various retailers.

One social media user crunched the numbers, and found out exactly what time you need to be awake for future restocks.

They are:

  • Argos - 1am
  • John Lewis - 5am
  • Amazon - 6am to 7am, sometimes 11am
  • GAME - 8am to 9am
  • AO - 10am
  • Very – 11am or 1pm

You also have re-drops throughout the day, and there are also delays in some areas.

Meanwhile, social media users found a handle little glitch yesterday which allowed them to snap up PS5 consoles.

On Twitter, one account told its followers: “Long shot but: Anyone who had a #ps5 in your basket on #very earlier and couldn't checkout go back in and look."

The account then followed it up by saying: "This guy just managed to bag a PS5 now at 20:05! This will only be a possibility if you had it in your cart earlier."
