There are claims that retailers including GAME and Amazon will be getting new stock of the PS5 games console today.
Twitter account PS5 Stock Info UK has detailed a list of retailers it believes will be getting new stock.
It said: “UPDATED Summary Of All Restocking DATES For Some UK Stores. Game UK on the 14th of December, Amazon UK On the 14th of December.”
It’s important to note that these are rumours, and the restock dates are yet to be confirmed by either Game or Amazon.
It comes after weeks of frantic searching by customers desperate to secure one of the next generation Sony consoles in time for Christmas.
Other major retailers including Very, Currys PC World, Argos and John Lewis have had fluctuations of stock over the last few weeks since the console first launched in the UK on November 19 2020.
However some customers have had luck in less obvious places such as by adding a PS5 console to their their existing BT broadband or EE contracts, or by visiting smaller retailers including Studio or Box.co.uk.
Other sites to check include:
AO.com
Hughes
eBuyer.com
ShopTo
JD Williams
Go2Games
Smyths
A good source of info for a devoted searcher will be the Stockinformer website, which has a constantly updated list of stock inventory for the major sites.
At the moment, their only listed pre-order site is, interestingly, eBay, and certainly it is possible to find plenty of listings for the PS5 on the UK eBay site right now.
The prices of these consoles however are adifferent matter so it depends just how keen you are to get your hands on a unit straight away.
With prices hovering around the £999 mark - double the UK RRP for the new PS5 - only the hardcore gamer with plenty of savings will be splashing out on an eBay purchase at this point.
