'Proved' - Pundit makes this Nottingham Forest promotion claim ahead of Millwall clash

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder David Prutton has had his say on how he reckons his old side will get on at Millwall tonight (7.45pm).

The Reds travel to London for a Championship battle with old foe Gary Rowett, formerly in charge of bitter rivals Derby County and now in the hot-seat at the Den.

Forest will be hoping to get their quest for automatic promotion back on track this evening and avenge Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City at the City Ground.

Sabri Lamouchi's side sit fourth after the reverse at the hands of the Bluebirds and could close the gap to five points on second-placed Leeds United tonight.

And Prutton, predicting a 1-1 draw, reckons that defeat to Cardiff underlined why Forest will not be challengers for automatic promotion this season.

"I was down at Millwall's training ground with Gary Rowett this week, seeing what he is doing to try and take the club to the next level in the Championship," he said in his Sky Sports column.

"He has had a solid start to life so far there.

"That defeat at home to Cardiff at the weekend for Forest probably proved they don't have quite enough for automatic promotion, but if they want to finish top six they need to be getting results in games such as this.

"I fancy a draw here, though."
