Bristol City have appointed Dean Holden as their new head coach, with the 40-year-old formally taking the reigns from Tuesday when the squad returns for pre-season training.
Holden has been appointed as the club’s new boss following Lee Johnson’s departure at the start of July, which came after the collapse of the push for a playoff spot.
The former Oldham Athletic manager was Johnson’s assistant at Ashton Gate before the latter’s exit last month.
Holden was appointed as caretaker manager following the 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City, and the Robins won two out of their five remaining matches with the 40-year-old in charge.
The announcement comes after over a month of speculation regarding the vacant role, with a host of names mentioned.
